Disney Park Mornings: What’s Your Style?

Whether you visit Walt Disney World or Disneyland, you know how you start your morning impacts your day. Here are four ways to start your morning at the Disney Parks. Comment which morning style fits you best!

The Rope Dropper:

Rope Dropping is when Disney guests enter the park before the actual opening time. It happens every morning at every Disney park. Arriving early allows you to enjoy the park before peak crowds. To know when to arrive for rope drop, you need to know the time the park opens then plan to be there at least 30 minutes before. Remember to consider your travel time to the park, including walking. While you will wait for the ‘rope to drop’ at park opening, the crowd will disperse and most attraction lines will be significantly shorter.

Here is your Disney personality if you start your mornings by rope dropping:

Your alarm is set and you have goals. You’re using your extensive knowledge and tactical advantages to curate a fantastic park day. Sure, the rest of our group may be tired, but they can sleep at home. You’re at Disney. It’s time to put on your favorite sneakers and make the most of your magical day!

The Chaotic One:

There is truly nothing more exciting than waking up at Disney World or Disneyland, right? Even as an adult, I never sleep much before the first park day. Some of us simply can’t contain ourselves. We tackle the day with nothing more than park-day energy.

Here is your Disney personality if you start your mornings with frenzied excitement:

Fueled by pure excitement and too much caffeine, you don’t have a plan. You follow your heart’s desire, even if it means having another 20k+ step day. You’re not afraid to cross the entire park for low wait times or for the snack you’re craving. You have the secret power of being able to rope drop and still be bopping by fireworks.

The Whimsical One:

When visiting Walt Disney World or Disneyland, it’s easy to get overwhelmed by wanting to do it all. When planning your Disney mornings, don’t forget to include some days for rest and simple enjoyments. This is vacation, after all! The Disney resorts and parks are designed with the guest experience in mind. Every space is full of storytelling and beautiful details. You’ll see the magic of the park if you slow down to notice it.

Here is your Disney personality if you start your mornings intentionally slow:

You wake up without an alarm, well rested. You don’t have a plan, but you’ll have a great day anyway. Sure, there are attractions that you love, but there is so much more to enjoy! You soak in the ambiance, meet your favorite characters, and experience the little things that most others miss.

The Genie+ Stacker:

Genie+ is a convenient tool for those wishing to skip long lines at Disneyland or Walt Disney World. Costing an additional fee per person, Genie+ allows you to book lightning lanes for most attractions on the My Disney Experience App. When you enter through the lightning lane, you skip the traditional lines and have significantly shorter wait times. There are limits on how many attractions you can book and how often. If you’re booking your attractions for later in the day, you have a few hours to add more attractions closer together, or “stack” the lightning lanes.

Here is your Disney personality if you start your mornings by stacking on Genie+:

You’re a logistics mastermind. You’re willing to sacrifice some sleep for a Slinky Dog Dash lightning lane. On the surface it looks like you’re having a fun-filled breakfast with Mickey & Friends and relaxing by the pool. But we know the truth. You’ve spent your afternoon quietly planning the best evening ever on the app. It’s going to be epic.

However you start your mornings, you’re sure to have a great day at the Disney parks. Especially if your morning starts with Mickey waffles and a Joffrey’s coffee!
